Embryology is a branch of biology which has a most immediate bearing on the problems of life. It has become an immense field whose confines are difficult to delineate. The focus has been and remains on the embryos, on the gradual emergence of form and structure from what appears to be a very modest beginning. The essence of embryonic development is transition from one stage to another. Embryo is a fleeting stage, a continuum along the axis of time.
The present volume Mammalian Embryology comprising of nine chapters deals with the description of different embryonic processes occur in mammals.
