FREE TRADE VERSUS FAIR TRADE
NAUNIHAL SINGH
"In recent years, strange sounding acronyms-GATT, NAFTA, and so on-have filled the newspapers and airwaves. While these terms have never really been explained to the Indian public, we have repeatedly been told, 'Don't worry, it'll be good for you'. In this book the author give voice to those of us who sense that something rings hollow in the cries for 'free' from what? The author wrestles these questions to the ground. and offers us a bold and courageous (and possible) alternative.. (This book is) a blaring wake-up call." With the demise of communism, free trade ideology has become triumphant, and its proponents now seek basic changes in the world's economy. Very expansion has brought out many of the fundamental problems with free trade. In a sweeping and clear argument, the book challenges the orthodox view that free trade benefits everyone and that trade organization such as NAFTA and GATT will create a new global prosperity. The author argues that, on the contrary, free trade serves only a narrow range of established interests, and that to protect international equity and the global environment, trade must be put on a different footing-a "new protectionism"-to regulate external trade while protecting and promoting local interests. This new protectionism, claims the author, presents a viable alternative to the status quo, and would contribute more to prosperity and social justice than would continued trade liberalization, as the NAFTA and GATT treaties propose. New policies are also needed to toughen environmental protection measures and create much needed local jobs, the areas now most endangered by unfettered free trade. The book analyzes the powers behind the free trade argument - the transnational corporation emerging superblocs to present an important and radical outline of what a viable, more just future could be for a world facing huge economic and environmental problems in the twenty-first century.

It highlights the significance of comprehensive strategy of international business both at the firm level and the national level so that the scarce resources of a nation could be harnessed to the optimum level to meet the rising aspirations and need of the people. It will clarify what is going to happen in the field in the remaining years of this century. This book carries the description and analysis of national policies to a much greater depth than is customary in a basic text, with emphasis on the problems and issues of the early 1990's.

EFFECTIVE ENTREPRENEURSHIP MANAGEMENT
NAUNIHAL SINGH
"we are not here to sell a parcel of boilers and vats, but the potentiality of growing rich beyond the dreams of avarice." So said Samuel Johnson in the 18th century, and it would be unrealistic to deny the same in the 21st century. Today, it is also unrealistic to deny the potential difficulty of attaining such a goal. The would-be entrepreneur faces many problems. For example, there is no established apprentice system to equip someone with the background and experience necessary before major responsibilities must be shouldered and decisions made. Even this book cannot give play-by-play instruction to the prospective entrepreneur, but it can give some insights into gut issues often not found in other textbooks. Some of these issues include: . How to operate without capital . How to divest people . How to handle a voluntary bankruptcy . How to select team members . How to negotiate . How to deal with angry customers . How to find and use unorthodox sources of risk capital. Entrepreneurship provides the student with a realistic basis to identify, analyze, and exploit a business opportunity. It flatly states that neither innovation, elbow grease, nor lady luck are in themselves guarantees of success. The catalyst that must always be present it constantly emphasized: the "I cam to win" attitude. The author defines "winning" as success in bringing the firm to a position where a substantial infusion of capital is required, yet stresses that some of the most challenging decision are beyond this point. This is a resource book for the aspiring entrepreneur, to help towards the building of a rapid growth and financially sound enterprise.

NAUNIHAL SINGH

Today's marketplace the look like a tea party. The wars are escalating and breaking out in every part of the globe. Everyone is after everyone's business everywhere. All this means that the principles of Global commerce are more important than ever. Companies must learn how to deal with their competitors. How to avoid strengths. How to exploit weakness. Organizations must learn that it's not about do or die for your company. It's about making the other guy die for his company. It's also about pursuing the right strategy. Whether you're big, medium, or small sized company, Marketing Warfare and the sequel that is being planned provide the strategic model for company survival into the 21st century.
