Geographers for last few decades are devoting a great deal of energy to the special distribution of natural and human resources, their use, under use and misuse. ‘Perspectives in Economic Geography’ has been devoted to the various aspects of Economic Geography. Based an eight volumes, this section includes Economic Geography, Resource Geography, Agricultural Geography, Industrial Geography, Urban Geography, Transport Geography, Medical Geography and Geography of Hazards. The papers included in these volumes explore in greater details the contribution of resources and economic sectors in the development of various economic systems and economic landscapes. The historical evolution of the world economic system, the agricultural typology, the distribution and utilization of mineral and energy resources, industries and their locations and the geography of international business and trade have been adequately highlighted. The last two volumes of this section have been devoted to Medical Geography and Geography of Hazards as they affect the Socio-Economic Development of the macro and micro regions and their economic activities.
Since a great variety of topics covering the economic aspects of human societies have been discussed, it is hoped that the work shall be of immense help to the planners policy makers, regional planners, students, teachers, and experts of environmental protection and management.
