ENCYCLOPAEDIA OF AGRICULTURAL GEOGRAPHY
M. HANIF

Agricultural Geography is the study of natural features of the earth’s surface including climate, soil, vegetation, topography etc. and man’s response to them.

The encyclopedia work encompasses authentic information on all aspects of geography.

Soil, earthen resources, water, rainfall, winds, climate, atmospheric condition, agricultural regions and cropping patterns etc., are given elaborate scientific treatment.

The authoritative information with facts and figures contained herein will benefit students, researchers, teachers and scientists in the field.

PHYSICAL GEOGRAPHY
MAJID HUSAIN

The study of the special and temporal characteristics and relationships of all phenomena within the earth’s physical environment is known as physical geography. It has the components of lithosphere, atmosphere, hydrosphere and biosphere. The physical aspects of the earth and the elements it contains are part of man’s search for knowledge since antiquity. Physical geography is the core of geography as it gives the principles and foundation to the subject on which the socio-cultural and economic geography depend. The gamut of life of various people in different parts of the world is largely controlled by the geomorphic and gynecological conditions. A systematic exposition of the concepts and principles of physical geography is therefore imperative for the understanding of the discipline of geography.
The present book gives a connectional background of physical geography and the articles included very from topical to regional. There are papers, showing the definition and scope of physical geography, understanding and predicting the physical world, change and continuity in physical geography, weathering of rocks, agents of denudation and fluvial processes, perspectives of geosphere and climatic change.
The selected papers in the book, written in a cogent manner, it is hoped, will be of immense help to those interested in the physical geography and will also encourage them to search further and learn more.

GEOMORPHOLOGY
MAJID HUSAIN
requst a quote

The scientific study of the origin of landforms based on a cause-and-effect relationship is known ass geomorphology. The geomorphology processes comprise the physical and chemical interactions between the earth’s surface and the natural forces acting upon it to produce landforms (gravity, river, ice, wave, wind). These processes are determined by such natural environmental variables as geology, climate, vegetation and base-level, to say nothing of human interference. Although the necessity for the study of processes has often been stated throughout the history of the science, the subject made rapid progress after 1960. The deductive and inductive approaches adopted by various scholars have promoted the cause of geomorphology in recent decades appreciably. All these approaches, the geomorphologic processes therefore, need to be studied systematically.
The present book includes the research papers contributed by the renowned geomorphologies. The major thrust of these papers is on Geomorphology in the Service of Society, Introduction to Geomorphology, Geomorphologic Explanations, Hydrological and Fluvial Processes, Paleontology and History of Landscape, Physiographic Evolution, Changing Physical Landscape, Landscape Assessment, Stable and Unstable Environments and a few micro-regional studies of landforms.
The present book addresses itself to readers who wish to get acquainted with the geomorphologic processes. It is hoped that the papers included in this book shall be of immense help for those who are interested in geo-science and environmental management.

CLIMATOLOGY
MAJID HUSAIN

The scientific study of world climate and the special distribution of climatic elements have attracted the attention of geographers right from the prehistoric and classical periods. The influence of climate on primary human occupations, basic needs and the consequent stage of socio-economic development are the fascinating grounds for geographical research.
Looking at the social relevance of climatology, fifteen well-written articles have been included in the present book. The papers are on Awareness of climatology; Climate and atmosphere; World climates; Atmospheric processes; Climatic classification; Climatic variability; Climate, models and geography; Recent trends in climatology; Climate, agriculture and food; Desertification and drought prone areas; Climatic change. Climate as a major determinant of mode of life has also been analyzed in some of the papers with the help of empirical studies.
The present book addresses itself to readers who wish to become familiar with the atmosphere, its structure, weather, climates and their special distribution as well as the influence of various geo-climatic regions. The papers written in a lucid style have more than academic relevance, especially for those who are interested in climatology, and their elements and processes.
