A HANDBOOK OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
AYAZ AHMAD
Information Technology, though relatively, a new stream is as vast as a sea. It's perhaps the most relevant and most applied among the disciplines, in currency, in the modern context. Further, it has earned new world order and the globalization.

In today's world, each and every awakened individual has to be fully aware of what Information Technology is all about. This exhaustive work is meant for the laymen and the students alike. It's an introductory volume and as well as a semi-text book, in itself.

PROBLEMS OF LIBRARY ACQUISITIONS
TARIQ ASHRAF
Collection development, ordinarily perceived as not a very demanding or exciting work, contain elements that bring great personal satisfaction to those whose careers are spent in the library. Little can excel the feeling that the libraries experience when the material needed by a particular user can be delivered to him immediately. It is the book and its many surrogates which are emblematic of stability in cultural transmission and it is the journal which represents, above all, the symbol of power, status and achievements within the academic discipline. They are central to providing information, entertainment, analysis and education to millions worldwide. Collection development is essentially an effective audit aspect of a library, closely linked with it users. Publishing industry, on other hand sets the limits within which libraries have to perform acquisition activities as bulk of the purchases relate to published works only. Libraries and publishing houses are part of separate but intersecting systems. They depend upon and are affected by the products, requirements and services of one another. The degree of proficiency and service conscientiousness of the publishers greatly determines the degree of positive or negative influences on the acquisition activities. A common understanding of the processes involved in each system is essential to improve the relationship. The book looks into all these aspects of this symbiotic relationship and it is hoped that it will help in relating the practice of librarianship to that of acquisition work in a more meaningful way.

COMPUTER APPLICATIONS IN CHEMISTRY
KISHOR ARORA
Applications of Computer in Chemistry are now a part of curriculum in B.Sc. and M.Sc. classes of most of the Universities. This portion has been introduced by U.G.C. in the model course curriculum as well. The present book focuses on the use of this electronic machine in dealing with the problems of chemistry. Main attention has been focused on development of programming logic and technique particularly dealing with the problems of Chemistry which should be the most important part before actually writing any Computer program. Fundamentals of three languages viz. BASIC, FORTRAN and C-Language, have been included in this book. Most of the programs in this book are given in BASIC language as it is easy to learn and interactive too. Ample programs are also given in FORTRAN and C-Language. It is has been tried to include all the programs in this book with their outputs. Hope this book will serve the purpose and will prove to be useful for the students pursuing studies in Chemistry at B.Sc. or M.Sc. level.

ENCYCLOPAEDIA OF LIBRARY AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY FOR 21ST CENTURY
SHYAMA BALAKRISHNAN & P.K. PALIWAL
For a long library and information technology seems to have meant little more than knowing what tasks had to be performed in libraries and being able to do; only of late did management come to be concerned with such abstractions as planning controlling, coordinating, etc. Librarians have sought to justify their professional existence through a set of routine practices which set them apart from other professional groups and which can be accepted by other as necessary for the maintenance of good order in a library.
The modern Information Technology revolution has led and compelled to recast the entire library and information science system to make it more convenient and easily accessible. Information is an invisible commodity. Like visible commodities, it requires an appropriate distribution mechanism in order to reach end users.
This encyclopaedia tries to illustrate complete picture of various aspects related to library and information technology in the twenty first century.
Encyclopaedia of Library and Information Technology for Twenty-first Century offers the most through treatment available on the application of library science techniques to information management problems.
This work brings together authoritative information on all aspects of Library and Information Science, also impact of latest Information Technology Revolution on the discipline. Thus, this work makes complete analysis of  prevalent trends, concepts and practices in the field and recent changes due to IT revolution.
