Though there is no dearth of books on involuntary displacement, a great many of them highlight the sociological and anthropological aspect of the issue. Here is an author who takes a legal stand, and on the basis of the constitutional provisions of Nepal and international human rights and environmental norms, argues that project affected persons (PAPs) do possess a right not to be arbitrarily displaced. The book analyses the normative and institutional framework of several South Asian countries including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Maldives and Bhutan on acquisition of property and resettlement.
