WOMEN POWER IN INDIA
MUKTA MITTAL
Over the last two decades there has been much evidence to show that the situation and the position of women in developing countries have deteriorated. As we enter the third development decade, several questions have naturally been raised regarding the nature of this development, and the role of women in such development. The present attempt has been taken to understand why women have been left out of the development process. This book examines the insights of this perspective trying to trace out some of the main trends and issues relating to women and development. It explores how to solve problems caused by development plans and policies which are detrimental to women. This book is not an in-depth study or analysis but is meant simply to be a guide to recent thinking and literature about women and development.

FUTURE OF GLOBAL SOCIETY
B.V. NAIK
The present book is itself a sustained piece of foreword to the future of modern man! Mr. Naik's book is a veritable linguistic Kaleidoscope of different world scenarios-political, economic, social, cultural, religious, environmental, and even sexual-crisscrossing one another and thereby providing new insights and illuminations. Like ancient seers, this modern seer (BVN) has composed a new Mantra for the moderns; to survive, secularise and globalise. Yes, the exhortation of the new mantra (probably the new Gayatri mantra) is in tune as predicted by the great Russian poet, Mayakovsky.
